Your pillow ships compressed so it survives the trip. A scary-small box is normal, not a defect. Do not judge the size, firmness or support until it has fully opened up.
Fluff it hard, then wait
Unpack it, shake it out and knead it firmly for a couple of minutes. Then leave it alone. Allow up to 48 hours for it to reach its true size and support.
Speed it up
A vigorous shake every few hours helps. For the fiber-fill shell you can also tumble it on LOW for 5 to 10 minutes with a couple of tennis balls. Never put a memory foam shell in the washer, and never use heat on it.
New foam smell?
That is normal off-gassing from fresh memory foam and it is not harmful. Our foam is CertiPUR-US certified for low emissions. Air it out near an open window for a day or two and it fades. If it is still strong after a week, tell us and we will make it right.

Set the angle with fill
Less fill in the shell means a softer, more reclined lean. More fill means a firmer, more upright sit. If you read in bed and slide down, you want more fill. If your neck cranes forward, you want less.

Shredded Memory Foam Most supportive
Material details: A shredded blend of memory foam and poly foam clusters. It contours to your back and pushes back where you need support. It also softens a little over the first few nights as body heat works on it.
Washing instructions: Never machine wash it. Spot clean or dry clean only, and always take the foam out before you wash the shell or cover.
Best for: Sitting up for long stretches. Reading, laptop work, watching TV, recovery.
Fiber Fill Hypoallergenic
Material details: Siliconized polyester fill. Softer and plusher than memory foam with a bit more give. It is the lighter of the two and the easier one to move around the house.
Washing instructions: The shell can be tumbled on LOW with tennis balls to re-loft it. Follow the care label on your shell before washing.
Best for: Allergy-sensitive households, lighter lounging, anyone who finds memory foam too firm.
Not sure which one you have? Unzip the cover and feel the shell. Shredded memory foam is springy and lumpy to the touch. Fiber fill is smooth, light and cloud-like.
The one rule that matters
Never machine wash memory foam.
This is official and it has no exceptions. Water in a washing machine tears shredded memory foam apart and it does not recover. Spot clean it or dry clean it, and always take the foam out before you wash any shell or cover it lives inside.
Fiber fill is different. Rather than washing tired fiber fill, take it out and top it up with fresh fill. That is exactly what the free stuffing programme below is for.
- DoTake the cover off and wash the cover on its own. Zip it closed first so the zipper does not snag or open in the drum.
- Do notPut a memory foam shell in a washing machine, use chlorine bleach, or use fabric softener on any cover.
- SpillsBlot, do not rub. Use a damp cloth with a little mild detergent, then let it air dry completely before you put it back together.

It is bigger or bulkier than I expected

Remove fill and the whole thing slims down. There is no separate thin model because an adjustable pillow already is one. If it is still too much pillow for your space after slimming it, the Standard+ is the narrow-bed size and the 101-day guarantee covers a swap.
It is too soft and does not support me

How do I make my pillow less firm?
Take fill out. Unzip the outer micro-plush cover, then unzip the inner shell, and remove a handful or two of the shredded fill. Zip it back up, sit against it, and repeat until it is right. Keep whatever you remove in a zip-top bag so you can add it back later. Memory foam also softens on its own over the first few nights as your body heat works on it.

How do I determine what size to get?
The official rule: if you are 5 feet 6 inches or under, choose the Medium. If you are 5 feet 7 inches or taller, choose the XXL. One honest nuance, if your bed is very soft and you sink into it, add a couple of inches to your height when deciding. Somebody who is 5 feet 8 inches on a deep-sinking plush mattress is often happiest on the Medium. For kids, teens and petite adults, the Medium is the pick. The Standard+ is the slimmest of the three and is built for narrower beds, couches, dorm rooms and RVs. And whichever way you go, the 101-day guarantee makes a size swap easy.
What are the exact dimensions, with and without the neck roll?
The XXL Husband Pillow measures about 31 inches overall with the neck roll attached. The neck roll adds roughly 7 inches, so the back on its own is about 18 inches tall. Thickness from back to front is about 12 to 13.5 inches, and total weight with the neck roll is around 9.1 lbs.
The Medium stands about 18 inches tall without the neck roll and about 23 inches with it, and is 29 to 32 inches wide.
Dimensions shift a little depending on your fill and how much of it you have removed.
Is the Husband Pillow hypoallergenic?
The fiber-fill version is hypoallergenic and is the right choice if allergies are a concern. Memory foam is not naturally hypoallergenic. The charcoal memory foam option does resist bacteria, mould and allergen build-up, but fiber fill is still the safer pick for allergy sufferers.
There are no feathers or down anywhere in the Husband Pillow line.

What is the difference between the Original, the Aspen Edition and the Fab Faux Fur line?
The Original is the classic: a soft, durable micro-plush cover, a detachable neck roll, a side pocket and a built-in carry handle. The Aspen Edition is a premium double-sided cowboy suede cover that reverses, so you get two looks from one cover. That reversibility is why it prices above the single-sided covers. Can I use this with a CPAP machine?
Yes. Plenty of owners do, and it comes up unprompted in reviews. The elevated backrest leaves room for a mask and hose. Just make sure the hose has enough slack to move with you. As with any medical equipment, follow your CPAP provider's fit guidance.
What is the return and warranty policy?
