What is new in the Wife Pillow 2.0?
Two things. The center channel now has its own zipper, so you can add or take out fill right where your head rests. And every box has a quarter-pound bag of extra fill, the same fill as your pillow. The arm tunnels, size and price are the same as the 1.0.
Where does my arm go when I sleep on my side?
Through the pillow. The Wife Pillow has arm tunnels under the wings, so your bottom arm lies along the bed instead of folding under your head. You can also hug a wing or rest your arm over the top. Roll over in the night and the tunnel on the other side is waiting.
What is the difference between the four fills, and which should I pick?
All four fills go in the same pillow; the fill sets the feel. Feather and Fiber Mix is the plushest, Premium Fiber Fill (down alternative, no feathers) is a medium feel, Cooling Memory Foam (gel infused shredded memory foam) has a doughy feel that holds the height you set, and Memory Foam (charcoal) holds the firmest. The charcoal 2.0 is coming in 2027. Like to sink in, choose Feather or Fiber. Want it to hold up under a broad shoulder, choose Cooling.
Is it too firm or too tall? Can I change it?
Yes, and you are meant to. Unzip the center channel or a chamber and take fill out to lower and soften it, or add it back for more height, anywhere from 2.5 to 8 inches. Change a small handful at a time and give each change a night.
How big is the Wife Pillow, and will it fit my bed?
The pillow measures 20 by 28.25 inches, and you set the height from 2.5 to 8 inches. It is bigger than a standard bed pillow because it holds your head, shoulder and arm together. Taking fill out lowers it but does not shrink the footprint.
I sleep hot. Which fill should I get?
Start with Cooling Memory Foam, gel infused shredded memory foam made to move heat away from your head. Feather is the warmest of the fills, so skip it if heat is what keeps you up.
Does it work for stomach sleepers?
Yes. Set a lower height than a side sleeper would: take fill out until your head is close to level with your shoulders rather than propped above them. If you move between your stomach and your side in one night, set the height for whichever one you spend most of the night in.
It arrived flat. How long until it is ready?
It ships compressed and reaches full height in 48 to 72 hours, so give it about three nights before you set the height. A new foam fill can carry a light new-pillow smell out of the bag; take the cover off and let it air for a day or two.
Will the arm tunnels fit broad shoulders?
The tunnels are one size on every Wife Pillow. Broad shoulders usually want more height, so add fill to the center channel until your head sits level. The fill bag in the box helps with that from night one.
What comes in the box? Do I need a pillowcase?
The pillow, filled, with a white T-shirt jersey cover on it, plus a quarter-pound bag of extra fill. A standard pillowcase will not fit the tunnel shape; extra covers are sold on our site.
How do I wash it?
The cover zips off and machine-washes. Care for the pillow itself depends on the fill, so ask us before you wash the inner shell.
